Stron & Christine Baskin


Armstrong (Stron) Baskin, 59, of Ray City, Georgia passed away Friday, November 14, 2014, at his home. 

He was born August 19, 1955 in Eastman, Georgia, a son of the late James Louis Baskin, Sr. and Eleanor Joyce King Baskin and brother of the late James Louis Baskin, Jr. He graduated from Bacon County High School and the University of Georgia in Athens. Mr. Baskin operated a pine-straw farm in Ray City, Georgia.

Mr. Baskin was a active member of the Park Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church in Valdosta, Georgia.  He was an inspirational leader to many and loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of ten years, Christine Baskin; two step-daughters, Caitlin and Hannah Wambolt; sister, Beverly McBride; nephews Jesse and Jared McBride, Levi Baskin; nieces Allison Lee, Rebekah Baskin and great-niece Cheyenne Lee.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Baskin will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Park Avenue Seventh-day Adventist church (2285 E. Park Ave, Valdosta, GA 31602) with Pastor Mark Waters and Pastor Mark Piotrowski officiating. Interment will follow at Beaver Dam Cemetery (457 Pauline Ave, Ray City, GA 31645). The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta.McLane Funeral Home (2215 N Patterson St, Valdosta, GA 31602)
